What political, economic, and social divisions in Latin American nations hinder successful democracies?
In order for countries in the Latin America to have successful democracy there are different things that they must do. When talking about the political changes that need to be made in order to have a democracy, some of these changes include, citizens having a say in the government. It also means a country is in charge of itself, there is not another, more powerful country in control. Furthermore, there are no military dictatorships, in a democracy there are leaders that do not take control of a country, but lead it in the right direction. Latin america has so many social problems. For example their crime rate, and their miss use of natural resources. In the 1960's the military verily torechered millions over civilians because of the lack of human rights. This was the darkest period in Latin american history. Due to the huge gap between the rich and poor economics Monroe Doctrine and Roosevelt Corollary warned Europeans not to invade the Western Hemisphere. They expanded U.S expansion to protect U.S business interests. After the North American Free trade agreement passed NAFTA gave workers equal access and gave them some of the materials they needed. It affected some people positively and some negatively but on the bright side they have the Amazon River Basin,it is the richest Eco-system in the world and coverts to oxygen to help their civilians breath better through all the air pollution, open sewers and trash. Salvador Allende was the over thrown elected leader and that made the people of Latin America very happy. The violence in Columbia was caused by the Gorilla Groups, the government shot any civilian the was suspicious of terrorism. To summarize, a political system cannot take control of a country, but they also cannot leave everything in the hands of the people. Economics need to be changed in order to have a successful democracy. Finally the last change that needs to be changed in order to have a successful democracy is a fair and equal social system.
